In doing so, it was his 30th goal, making him the highest scoring Brazilian in Premier League history.
And Juninho is pleased for his compatriot.
“I am delighted that he takes my record,” Juninho told the Daily Mail.
“I can’t think of anyone better – the record couldn’t be in better hands.”
