Lily’s grandpa tells some pretty good bedtime stories, but you’ll see that for yourself as you play through the adventures he’s describing, affecting how each bedtime tale plays out through your own top-down action in Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King.
These were definitely the stories I wanted to hear as a kid.
Grandpa’s bedtime stories happen to involve little girl knights, irate wizards, puzzle and danger-filled dungeons, and broad, open worlds to explore. As you progress through the world and make discoveries, grandpa will alter his tale to accommodate what you’re up to, having you help him create exciting stories for his nowhere-near-sleepy-enough granddaughter.
Fans of a certain other top-down action/exploration game might be familiar with some of the combat and weapons, but Castle Pixel has made this adventure their own, creating an array of neat tools and magical devices that affect your fighting style, as well as their own charming world and ultra-cute art style to tie it all together. Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King possesses that comfortable familiarity from being inspire by something great, but takes it to unique places and plays in ways that make it their own special, charming concoction.
And besides, who doesn’t want to be the subject of awesome bedtime stories for a good kid? Jerks, that’s who.
Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King is available for $ 14.99 on Steam. For more information on the game and developer Castle Pixel, you can head to the developer’s site or follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
