Paul George trade: Thunder star drops MAJOR free agency hint with Lakers lurking

The Thunder were knocked out of the NBA playoffs last night after losing Game 6 to the Utah Jazz 96-91.

It brought an end to George’s first year in Oklahoma with attention swiftly turning to what he will decide to do this summer in free agency.

It came as a shock to many when he decided to join the Thunder last summer in what was seen as a trial year alongside Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony.

Several reports have suggested George has his heart set on a move to the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer.

However, the 27-year-old stated after the game against Utah that he would like to remain in Oklahoma.

“It was an amazing season,” George said.

“[It was] really a learning experience playing off Russ, playing off Melo, Stevo and seeing the potential of having Dre [Andre Roberson] out there.

“It was a lot to be happy about. The fans, the city, the organisation. Everything has been unbelievable.

“It’s too soon. I’d love to remain a Thunder but that’s what this summer is for so we’ll address that in the summer.”

There have also been reports suggesting the Philadelphia 76ers could make a move for George in the summer with a lot of it depending on what LeBron James decides to do after the playoffs.
