Even though the throwaway reference to Wendy’s brother wasn’t intended to create a whole new storyline for future seasons, Linney’s idea eventually led to the introduction of Ben.
Finally, she added: “We came up with that in the boat, Jason and I, and they wrote the line in. After that, there were jokes throughout the first two seasons like ‘when’s the brother gonna show up?’”
Luckily, viewers had their patience rewarded and the Netflix series eventually paid off Wendy’s concerns with her brother in the latest season, with shocking results.
