The show has only just returned to our screens, so it was no wonder that viewers were left confused.
The war series, featuring Michelle Keegan and Luke Pasqualino, will soon be coming to a sudden end.
Before season three’s third episode aired this evening, the BBC voiceover said that it would be the “penultimate episode of Our Girl”.
Viewers instantly took to social media baffled by the shock announcement.
One fan tweeted: “How is this the penultimate ep? #OurGirl @BBCOne.”
“I’m confused; how is this the penultimate episode of #OurGirl when it’s only been on a few weeks?” posted another.
A third added: “Penultimate episode of our girl??? Thought there was 12!!!???? #OurGirl,” as another added: “How is it the penultimate episode already? #OurGirl.”
While series two of Our Girl aired five episodes, but the BBC have decided to try a different path with the current continuation.
A total of 12 episodes have been filmed for the third series, but split up into three separate mini-series.
Each miniseries will comprise of three separate tours, with the first taking place in Nepal.
Our Girl continues next Tuesday on BBC One at 9pm.
