Naby Keita tackle video: Watch moment Liverpool target crunches RB Leipzig team-mate

Liverpool have twice had bids rejected for the midfielder, who wants to move to Anfield.

And his future became shrouded in more doubt today after a tackle that left Demme requiring extensive treatment.

Video shot from the training ground in Austria shows Keita dust himself down after Demme put in a crunching tackle of his own.

Minutes later, Keita got his own back with a late challenge that left Demme writhing on the ground in agony.

It led to training being abandoned and Leipzig issuing a Twitter statement which read: “Let off for Diego #Demme. He suffered a bruised knee from a tackle in training, but his meniscus & ligaments are fine. Get well soon, Diego!”

Demme had to be helped from the pitch with a bandaged knee while Ralph Hasenhuttl ordered the team back to their hotel.

Liverpool fans reacted by trolling RB Leipzig with hundreds of hilarious tweets after Keita’s bust-up.

One wrote: “Give us our man and no one else gets hurt lads.”

Another retorted: “Let Naby come to @LFC, he is going to finish them if you don’t let him go. one by one!!! #NabyKeita.”

One reasoned: “How’d he get injured? Training bust ups are usually a result of an unhappy player #FreeNaby.”

While another tweeted: “Maybe if you granted Keita’s wishes by letting him go, he wouldn’t resort to nasty tactics. Time to sell before your relationship worsens!”

Fans also tweeted videos of Klopp laughing to Leipzig while one user wrote: “SIR NABY KEITA.”

Another said: “Don’t mess with naby Keita!!!!”

German newspaper Bild have even speculated the challenge highlighted Keita’s frustration at being unable to join Liverpool.

Express Sport understand Jurgen Klopp wants to make it third time lucky with a £75million bid for the 21-year-old centre-midfielder.

Liverpool have already had offers of £57m and £66m rejected.

Keita is keen to move to Anfield and the 22-year-old has a £48m release clause in his contract for next summer.

While Keita remains Klopp’s top target, RB Leipzig have been adamant he’s going nowhere.

Leipzig owner Dietrich Mateschitz said last week: “We don’t sell any of our players just to get.

“Lately we got a €75million offer for Naby Keita. No way! He has a contract and he will accomplish it.

“To sell him would not only be a proof of distrust to our fans but also the wrong sign for our players like Timo Werner, who is in demand too.”
