It is not the manliest pick you could imagine but ever since I got to the UK I’ve loved Ellie Goulding. Burn is one of my favourite songs. She is so unique and British. When she sang on Strictly and Janette danced to her, I was like a kid in a candy store.
GREGORY PORTER: Liquid Spirit
I love Musical Genocide and one day I hope to choreograph a dance to it. I wasn’t into gospel music but he makes it current. I danced to him on Strictly and when we were doing the sound check I forgot my steps because his voice took over.
LONDON GRAMMAR: If You Wait
(Metal & Dust)
I love great vocals and the singer’s voice is stunning. My head is in a 100 different places most of the time so I love listening to beautiful, meaningful music. If I don’t have a busy day ahead, I play this in the morning as it sets me up for a relaxed day.
ANDREA BOCELLI: Vivere, The Best Of Andrea Bocelli
My all-time favourite singer and a huge part of my listening life. It is to do with how emotional his voice is. Even when I don’t understand the lyrics, I can picture vividly whatever he is trying to portray. I had the chance to meet him on Strictly and told him that his songs were my alarm clock in the morning.
ED SHEERAN: X
I love his quirkiness. My favourite song is Thinking Out Loud. I appreciate great songwriting where they are singing to tell a story. His song Shape Of You was our theme song on the last Strictly tour for every bus ride and party.
I’m really a slow-music kind of guy and Hozier’s songs Take Me To Church, Sedated and Work Song are very powerful. To see Hozier live is something that is on my bucket list.
