Monster Hunter World Deviljho guide: How to beat ferocious beast on PS4, Xbox One

Monster Hunter World developer Capcom recently released update 2.0, which added the fearsome Deviljho to the game.

Available on PS4 and Xbox One, the mighty Deviljho invades 6-star quests, 7-star quests and high rank expeditions – but only after you’ve completed the investigation for the “??? Rathian” in the main story.

Deviljho can be found all Biomes, although players have discovered it in the Ancient Forest, the Rotten Vale and Elders Recess.

“I hope you’ve been gearing up for this hunt with such an insatiable and relentless beast,” Capcom recently revealed.

“No one is safe from the deadly jaws of the Deviljho; not even other monsters.

“This fearsome Brute Wyvern is sure to wreak some serious havoc and bring massive headaches to any unsuspecting hunters… but those who fell this violent beast will be handsomely rewarded.

“Bring Deviljho materials to the Workshop and they’ll be able to craft 2 complete armor sets—Vangis and Vangis as well as a new entry in each of the 14 existing weapon types, including brand new Deviljho designs for Sword and Shield, Hunting Horn, Bow, Insect Glaive and Charge Blade.”

The Deviljho is a large and aggressive beast capable of using smaller monsters as weapons. It’s quick and powerful, and can defeat hunters in just a couple of hits.

It deals Dragon and Dragonblight damage, but is also weak to Dragon and Thunder.

Players should pay especially close attention to its Dragonblight attack, which reduces weapon damage and nullifies elemental damage.

To combat these effects, players should take as many nullberries into battle as possible.

In terms of weapons, you might want to take the Great Sword into battle.

The Great Sword was recently given an update to make it more powerful. Damage was increased for two of the Charged Slash moves, as well as the Strong Charged Slash.

Other weapons to get an upgrade include the Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Hammer and Hunting Horn.
