Monaco losing patience with Chelsea over Tiemoue Bakayoko transfer – report

Chelsea have already been dealt one transfer blow with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku primed to join Manchester United.

The Belgium international is due to undergo a medical ahead of his move to Old Trafford despite initially prioritising a return to the club he left in 2014.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is aiming to bolster his squad despite the way Chelsea waltzed to the Premier League title last season.

A deal for Juventus’ Alex Sandro remains in the works despite Paris Saint-Germain also registering an interest.

However, the Daily Mail claim their move for Bakayoko has stalled.

Conte wants to first offload Nemanja Matic, who looked a shoe-in to join Manchester United last week.

Jose Mourinho is keen on a reunion with the Serbia international, who he re-signed from Benfica in January 2014, but his decision to gazump Chelsea’s bid for Lukaku means he faces a fight to prise him away from the London giants.

As a result, Chelsea are struggling to complete a deal for Bakayoko with Monaco growing increasingly frustrated.

The report adds that, in the wake of Lukaku’s snub, they are now set to pursue a deal for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

Like Matic, the Spain international also looked set to join United.

But after they had a bid for Lukaku accepted, Chelsea could now be forced to pay over the odds for the player.

Andrea Belotti is another option but the Torino forward’s £86million buy-out clause could deter Conte.
