Microsoft Xbox One E3 2018 rumours: New Fallout project, Fable 4, THREE Gears of War games

Xbox One’s E3 2018 press conference kicks off today at 9pm UK time.

The Microsoft E3 conference will be broadcast live on the Xbox Twitch channel and the official YouTube channel.

The company will also showcase its new releases at the Microsoft Theatre, which will be open to E3 badge holders on June 12 and June 13.

And the rumours are coming thick and fast, with recent reports suggesting that a new Fallout game could be revealed.

It’s been ten years since the release of Fallout 3, which has led to rumours of a remastered edition launching later this year.

Fallout 3 Anniversary Edition has been tipped to be revealed during one of this year’s conferences.

It’s possible we’ll see something during the Microsoft E3 conference, or potentially Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct.

Other E3 rumours suggest that Fable 4 will be revealed during this year’s E3.

Former Lionhead developer Don Williamson recently suggested that Fable 4 is in development.

“Mmm ok, having no inside information, I totally know who’s building Fable 4 now. Interesting choice…”

Asked by WCCFTech if the studio is based in Brighton, he added: “There’s nobody here in Brighton that could take on a task of that magnitude.”

Williamson would then play down the tweets, telling followers that he is currently only speculating.

“Deleted previous tweet because people seem to think I have some knowledge of something that may or may not be happening whereas all I have is speculation.”

It’s been speculated that Playground Studios is working on the game, especially given a recent job advert that referenced a triple-A action-RPG.

Three new Gears of war releases could also make an appearance.

Gears of War 5 is almost certain to be revealed, although there are rumours that two additional Gears of War games will be announced.

It’s unclear what form the other two games will take, but a battle royale spinoff seems like an obvious choice.

As Forbes points out, Microsoft could make a real-time strategy spinoff in the same vein as Halo Wars.
