Meghan Markle copies this look from Kate – but expert says it makes her look ‘dated’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry enjoyed their Royal Wedding on May 19.

Since then Meghan, a former-actress, has been known as the Duchess of Sussex.

The Suits star is adapting to royal life, living in Britain and being a member of the historic family.

And she has also been adapting her style as she grows into her new role.

Meghan was lauded for her edgier style when she first began to date Prince Harry.

What does a style expert have to say about her latest transformation?

Fashion expert Anna Mewes told Express.co.uk: “I think it’s understandable that Meghan has played it quite safe since her wedding but I am a bit disappointed that she hasn’t been a little more daring with some of her sartorial choices.

“She had such a lovely edge to her look before becoming a Duchess which I think she could have kept to a certain degree even after getting married.”

Some of Meghan’s greatest style moments include her trip to Edinburgh with Prince Harry last year.

The LA native wore a masculine Burberry Tartan wool coat with wide leg trousers and heels.

She also looked fabulous when she visited Wales wearing a Stella McCartney tie detail coat and Huit Denim Dina jeans.

However, there is one area in which Meghan has followed in Kate’s style and beauty footsteps to detrimental effect, the expert has said.

Meghan Markle’s messy bun seemed to set a trend during her early visits to various parts of the UK.

While many videos popped up online advising how to recreate the look, others claimed the hair do was against royal protocol.

For her most recent outings Meghan has worn her hair in glossy curls, just like Kate Middleton does.

However, Anna claims this style switch up is a mistake on Meghan’s behalf.

She said: “I would be telling her to go back to her signature hair styles that are just a little deconstructed, rather than the perfectly ‘done’ glossy waves, which for me are a little dated.”

Meghan Markle at Prince Louis’ christening wore a pretty olive green ensemble.

She appeared to be wearing the now sold-out Manolo Blahnik BB Suede Pointed-Toe Pump in Olive.

Similar shoes in different colours cost around $ 584.95 (£442.24) from the designer’s website.
