McGregor Mayweather: Conor McGregor's mind games can help him KO Floyd Mayweather – Berto

UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor takes on Floyd Mayweather in a matter of hours at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Throughout the build-up to the super-fight McGregor has got the better of the verbal exchanges in their press conferences.

He got into Jose Aldo’s head when the pair fought in 2015 and knocked him out in 13 seconds after he left himself wide open.

And Berto, who was the last man to box Mayweather, reckons the exact same tactic could be ‘s best route to victory as it could force ‘Money’ into making silly mistakes and forcing the KO.

“I see Conor coming in there really showing that bravado, showing that cockiness and showing that he’s really there to fight,” Berto told MMA Fighting

“And somewhat trying to steal the stage from Floyd just with his antics and he kind of gets Floyd into a mind-game situation, has him pulling some type of mistakes and [Mayweather] gets caught with a big shot and gets hurt. And [McGregor] could stop him.”

However, if  does not buy into his antics then Berto thinks it will favour him as he will just ‘pick him apart’ and ‘make him look silly’.

“Or I see Floyd not playing into any of these antics and being who he is, to stay poised and to stay sharp and let his boxing skills just pick Conor apart,” Berto continued.

“And either late rounds stop Conor just from the accumulation of shots or maybe cuts or just being beat up, or just outboxing him for 12 rounds and just trying to make him look silly.”

He added: “It’s the fight game — anything can happen.

“It’s either Conor catches him early, finishes him or Floyd is gonna outboxing him and makes him look silly and tries to embarrass him.”
