Marcella spoilers: Dramatic lorry plot twist leaves Anna Friel fans confused

The dramatic continuation saw Marcella (played by Anna Friel) get one step closer to finding the serial killer.

In tonight’s episode, Marcella discovered the horrifying truth about the scale of the killer’s crimes when she discovered the murderer’s lair.

Kevin Hoffs and his blue lorry were found abandoned in a lay by in a huge plot revelation.

Leann informed Marcella that the lorry had been there for 36 hours.

After analysing Adam’s phone records, the team became aware that Adam had contacted the KidsCall helpline.

Marcella headed there to retrieve the records and Maya was helpful despite both women having Tim Williamson in common.

From Adam’s records they saw that he’d admitted to being abused by his father – but his father had alibis for many incidents surrounding the case.

Retracing the route of the lorry and the car from the train crash, the team were able to deduce the area in which Adam was picked up and the lorry was stolen.

Officers were dispatched to the area and come across an old abandoned house with a bloody handprint on the door.

What they find inside the house shocked Marcella and Rav to their core as the true scale of the killer’s crimes become apparent.

Viewers instantly took to social media following the broadcast, with one tweeting: “Blink and you miss about 10 different plots, characters and theories #marcella.”

“Love #Marcella but it doesn’t half freak me out!” posted another.

A third added: “#Marcella more confused, can wait another week!”

“#Marcella just when I start to think I may have an idea what’s going on and……..nope not a clue #awholeweekswait,” wrote another.

A fifth teased: “Right! I’ve narrowed it down. It’s either the boxer, the nurse, that lady who runs the company, her husband, one of the ladies trying for a baby or that old singer guy or possibly one of those extras that does something different in every scene #Marcella #whodunnit.”

One fan completely gave up, stating: “I’m more confused than she is #Marcella.”

Marcella continues next Monday on at 9pm.
