Man Utd Transfer News LIVE updates: Harrop joins Preston, Carrick discusses Ronaldo move

MANCHESTER UNITED TRANSFER NEWS LIVE

16:15: Michael Carrick says he has not thought about the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United.

“I haven’t really given it too much thought to be honest with you,” Carrick said on Sky Sports.

“Listen, you don’t need me to say, everyone knows how what type a player he is and how good he is and what a career he’s had.

“It’s not for me to get involved in whether he comes to Manchester United, whether he leaves or Madrid or not, that’s not my business at this moment in time.

“Of course I was lucky enough to play with him, it was just a joy to work so close to him and see how he plays.

“We will see how it pans out over the next few weeks and months.”

15:40: Josh Harrop has agreed to join Championship side Preston.

The 21-year-old made his debut for United in the final game of the season against  Crystal Palace and was named man-of-the-match after scoring in a 2-0 win.

But Harrop opted not to sign a new contract and leave United at the end of his contract.

Harrop told Preston’s official website: “I’m delighted to be here, it’s a new start for me to get things going in my career and I’m buzzing to get playing and to make an impact in the team.

“I’ve got four years now at Preston North End where I know I am going to be and I am going to put everything into that and dedicate myself to do the best for the team and the best for the fans.

“Hopefully I can achieve my aims and ambitions that I have set myself by coming here and that’s to get promoted with Preston North End and help the club get as high as we can.”
