Man United News: Griezmann’s ‘dream’ move, Ferguson revelation, £35m challenge

Antonie Griezmann will have disappointed fans with his latest comments.

The £86million-rated Atletico Madrid striker is United’s top summer target.

Having previously reiterated his desire to stay in the Spanish capital, Griezmann admits it would be a ‘dream’ to play for one of Europe’s giants, but United weren’t mentioned.

When quizzed about playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid one day, Griezmann said: “Why not? That’s the dream for every player, to be at big clubs like that, or Bayern Munich.

“But right now I don’t see myself at Barcelona or Real, or anywhere else. I’m happy in Spain.”

Sir Alex Ferguson admits he still feels a tinge of regret about leaving Park Ji-sung out of his 2008 Champions League final squad.

The Scot enjoyed one of his best nights in charge of United as his side beat 6-5 on penalties to secure Europe’s top prize.

But looking back on the game, Ferguson told MUTV: “It was a really great bunch of players with a great attitude about them and a good, strong squad.

“My problem in the 2008 final, maybe I even regret it to this day, was I left Ji-sung Park out completely in the final.”

United face a challenge to sign Benfica star Nelson Semedo, according to reports.

The right-back was on the Red Devils’ radar in the January window.

Reports emerged last month indicating United had agreed a £35m deal.

But according to Portuguese paper O Jogo, AC Milan and Juventus are vying for his signature.
