Little Boy Blue episode 2: Touching trailer sees thousands turn out for Rhys Jones funeral

The four-part series follows the harrowing real-life account of 11-year-old Jones, who was shot dead in Liverpool almost 10 years ago.

The emotional clip shows Melanie Jones (played by Sinead Keenan) in tears as her son’s coffin is brought into the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool.

Meanwhile, the teenager who helped Jones’ killer, Kevin Moody (Michael Moran, by hiding the weapon is seen struggling with his conscience.

His mother implores him to go to the police, saying: “He’s killed a totally innocent little boy. You have got to stop digging yourself in deeper and deeper.”

“I’m really struggling to watch this. I’ve been crying since it started #littleboyblue. Just awful,” said one audience member.

While another wrote: “I can’t watch #LittleBoyBlue as it’s so emotive and I’m just in bits and @SineadKeenan is breaking my heart as Mel Jones.”

A third followed: “Never watched anything like this. Incredibly emotional from the start. Steve Jones smelling his son’s pillow. Heartbreaking.”

Little Boy Blue continues next Monday at 9pm on ITV.
