Leicester 3-0 Liverpool LIVE: Vardy gets his second after Drinkwater's stunning volley

LEICESTER v LIVERPOOL

Analysis from our reporter Dave Armitage, at the King Power Stadium.

Well, can’t say I expected that… arrived outside the King Power to be passed by an actual hearse making its way slowly away from the ground.

Nothing unusual there, you might think.

But in the coffin area at the back it was decked out with blue and white flowers spelling out ‘RIP Football.’

Emotive stuff and clearly someone has strong feelings about the seemingly brutal dismissal of title winning boss Claudio Ranieri.

It’s going to be hard to gauge exactly what the feeling in and around the ground will be for tonight’s match with Liverpool.

Make no mistake – there’s not a single Foxes fan who doesn’t hold Ranieri in the reverence he deserves and everyone is extremely sad that it has all ended like this.

What he did last season will never be forgotten by a single one of them and for that, his place in history is assured, both here and further afield.

Ranieri’s men rocked the world – the shockwaves of that stunning Premier League victory really did reverberate THAT far.

But, equally there is a strong feeling among many of the supporters that had Ranieri stayed in charge, Leicester would be going down.

Who knows?  There’s still a chance of that happening – a big chance – but many supporters do feel that Ranieri’s magic had worn thin and it was time for a change.

Craig Shakespeare takes charge for tonight’s game and he’ll be anxious to get off to a flying start.

So will the players. If they can get an early goal, it could keep all the fans onside, but if they were to go a couple of goals down early on, who knows what kind of feeling sit might stir up.

It promises to be fascinating come what may.
