The actress, who also appeared in The Replacement, has been asked about the prospect in several interviews, which has only heightened the rumours.
“I’ve lapped it up – why not?” she told The Sun.
“This rumour is a very funny thing to have happened.”
Still, she doesn’t seem to fancy her chances of landing the gig.
“A Nottingham girl playing Bond is never going to happen in a million years,” she added.
“But it would be genius if it did, wouldn’t it?”
The first ever James Bond was seemingly nearly a female actress, until the part eventually went to Sean Connery.
For now, it’s not known whether Daniel Craig will return as James Bond for another film, after previously starring in four.
