Two days ago James Bond 25 was supposed to start shooting at Pinewood Studios. But when Danny Boyle left as director, the principal photography was pushed back to March 2019, with Cary Fukunaga now on board. In the last few months, there have been only the smallest titbits of information regarding Craig’s last Bond movie. After all, we still don’t know what the synopsis or title is, but now there’s been a couple of updates.
Firstly Variety Awards Editor Kristopher Tabley claims that La La Land’s Oscar-winning Linus Sandgren will be cinematographer – a rumour that’s affirmed by his IMDB page.
He tweeted: “The things I learn when calling up my peeps for the shot column.
“It appears Linus Sandgren is shooting the next Bond and Greig Fraser is shooting Dune. RAD.”
Sandgren follows on from Spectre’s Hoyte van Hoytema, best known for Christopher Nolan movies, and the great Roger Deakins on Skyfall.
The Swedish Director of Photography also most recently worked on First Man and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
Alongside La La Land, these films’ visual style makes it sound like Bond fans can look forward to some beautiful, bold shots.
Meanwhile, the other update is that it appears Bond 25 will shoot scenes in Norway.
Spotted by @Bond25Film, a Norwegian newspaper says a film called B25 has applied to be part of an incentive scheme for shooting in Norway.
Meanwhile back in October Bond franchise regular Stefan Zürcher revealed Bond 25 will start shooting in Canada.
He said: “Recently, a director has finally been found, and shooting in Canada is scheduled for next March.”
Bond 25 will be released in cinemas on February 14, 2020.
