When Jade first walked in to the Big Brother house in 2002 she immediately left Channel 4 viewers divided.
The Bermondsey-born housemate had been determined to get onto the social experiment programme, and producers said she was instantly watchable.
But her journey was full of trials and tribulations, as Jade’s unapologetic behaviour turned off much of Britain at first.
Then the newspapers jumped on the bandwagon and Jade received growing hate even from within the confines of the Big Brother walls.
Former housemate Alex Sibley recalled sitting in the garden at the Elstree studio one day when a rock was hurled across the fence covered in abuse about Jade.
The public’s perception then turned, and Jade made it to fourth place on the show.
The reality star’s journey outside of the house became a rollercoaster, as she was in the middle of a race row over another fellow Big Brother contestant, Shilpa Shetty, years later.
Jade then tragically lost her life after a short battle with cervical cancer in 2009.
Davina welled up with emotion as she remembered how much being in the spotlight and turning her life around truly meant to Jade when she exited the Big Brother house in the summer of 2002.
Davina’s voice wobbled as she looked back on the moment Jade was announced as coming in fourth place.

“She came fourth but she was the winner,” Davina said. “The feeling of real … I can’t put it into … I cannot tell you what that feels like.”
Davina continued: “I felt such enormous joy at Jade’s great popularity that night.
“I was sort of thinking ‘Oh my God, look she’s just lapping it up. She’s born for this.’”
Becoming even more overwhelmed with emotion, Davina then said: “I remember Jade saying how, you know, she’s always looked after her mum, like all her life.
“And I would look at her and think, ’God you’ve gone into this first foray into being yourself.
“And escaping that past life of drugs and addiction… and then turning that around’.
The presenter then welled up further and it was clear she truly admire Jade.
“I mean it was nothing short of fricking miraculous what she’d done,” Davina added.
The documentary series continues with the next look at Jade’s life on Channel 4 next week.
