The 42-year-old presenter felt frustrated that a member of the production team had messed up one of their rehearsed gags.
Hoping to poke fun at Stanley Johnson’s poor aim from an earlier task, Ant and Dec had planned to tease that the former politician had since been practicing.
A hat was supposed to fly in from off camera and hit the two hosts, with the pair pretending that it was Stanley’s.
Ant said: “Ha! They did pretty well at the questions in the trial but Stanley’s aim was all over the joint!”
Dec then added: “It was all over the place. Although apparently he has spent all morning using his hat to practice his throwing and his aim is getting much, much better.”
At this point, a hat could be seen at the side of shot – totally missing the presenters it was meant to hit.
As the pair burst out laughing, Ant raged in jest: “That was meant to hit me by the way! That was the gag!
“You’re sacked! Get out! Get out! Get out… you wrote it as well.”
