Apple MacBook fans who were hoping to see a new laptop unveiled at the company’s March 2018 event could be in for a disappointing afternoon.
Rumours have been rife that the US technology firm was planning to lift the lid on an updated MacBook Air.
This hugely popular device hasn’t been refreshed in years and many fans would love to see the Air get fully rebooted.
However, experts are now suggesting that this new budget machine won’t be announced during tomorrow’s launch.
In a recent post on Bloomberg, renowned Apple expert Mark Gurnman said: “A new, cheaper MacBook laptop is in the works and likely destined to replace the MacBook Air at a price less than $ 1,000.”
However, Gurman is not convinced that Apple will launch this new laptop at Tuesday’s event, adding: “It probably won’t be ready in time for next week.”
This report comes after Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that there are plenty of things to suggest that Apple plans to launch a more affordable MacBook Air in the second quarter of 2018 which could mean a launch comes at WWDC in June.
Although it’s unclear if Apple is going to refresh it populate Air laptop tomorrow, one thing that looks almost certain is that Apple will reveal a new budget iPad at its event in Chicago.
It’s thought this new tablet could be an update to entry-level iPad that was launched last year.
One clue to its new features could come from the invites that were recently sent out to media across the globe.
The invite which reads “Let’s take a field trip”, includes an image of the famous Apple logo which appears to have been hand-drawn using the Apple Pencil stylus and that’s got people speculating that support for this accessory is coming to the budget tablet.
Currently, only the more expensive iPad Pros allow Apple’s stylus to scribble on the screen and this useful feature may now arrive on cheaper devices.
To add fuel to the iPad rumours a recent post on French blog Consomac, showed filings for two new models with the Eurasian Economic Commission database.
Unfortunately, the official entry doesn’t reveal any details about the hardware itself.
However, it does contain two model identifiers, A1893 and A1954.
In the past, when Apple has filed with official bodies, like the Eurasian Economic Commission database, the US company has unveiled products soon thereafter.
Along with the new tablets we could also see some updated accessories with a new keyboard case and lower-priced Pencil stylus also rumoured.
