How to live longer: Apple cider vinegar just ONCE a day could extend your life by 10 YEARS

The seven-day Pioppi diet plan is believed by experts to help extend a person’s lifespan.

Pioppi, in southern Italy, has been dubbed the ‘world’s healthiest village’ as residents often live 10 years longer than elsewhere to 100 years old.

Bacon and chocolate are staples in the diet, but vegetables, oily fish and nuts feature heavily and are thought to help prevent the people of Pioppi from developing heart disease or type 2 diabetes.

Large consumption of olive oil is also believed to benefit the heart and apple cider vinegar is thought to help acid reflux, lower blood pressure and boost weight loss.

The diet also includes eggs most days, which are a good source of protein, intermittent fasting is recommended and red wine is permitted.

Adapting the diet of Niopi, cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra and former athlete Donal O’Neill have have developed a seven-day diet plan

For Get The Gloss, Dr Aseem and Donal feature an extract from their book ‘The Pioppi Diet: A 21-day Lifestyle Plan’ which explains how to incorporate the plan into every day life.

Apple cider vinegar has also been linked to weight loss

A study in Japan, published in 2009, showed tat obese subject who were given apple cider vinegar lost more weight than others who did not have the drink.

The test subjects were divided into three groups. One group was told to have a drink with one tablespoon of vinegar. Another had a drink with two tablespoons of vinegar, while the third group had a placebo.

Those who drank the vinegar lost more weight than those who drank the placebo, over a period of 12 weeks.

Studies have found that apple cider vinegar helps you to lose weight because of the acid in the liquid, known as acetic acid.

The acid increases an enzyme AMPK, which scientists claim increases fat burning and decreases fat and sugar production.

Another study has found that people who drank a tablespoon of cider vinegar in water had lower glucose levels.
