Cheating is prevalent, and the unfaithful don’t take a break from their affairs over the holidays.

Men are very generous with their secret lovers, it has been revealed, evidently trusting their spouses don’t check their credit card statements.

A survey has found that men spend on average £178 on their mistress.

Gleeden, a French extra-marital dating app, found that 82 per cent of their 10,000 members interviewed gave their lover a Christmas present.

Almost half of the men spend the rather large sum on their mistress and prefer to give fine jewellery as a present.

The five most popular gifts for mistresses:

Chanel earrings

Hermes bracelet

Pomellato ring

The Christmas gift most often given by these ladies is a night in a beautiful hotel.

The second most popular gift is a spa day for two. Finally, fragrance comes last in this list of the top three gifts most often given by unfaithful women to their lover.

According to the latest Gleeden study, the extra-marital encounters app with more than 3.8 million members, the unfaithful are far from putting their extramarital relationship on the back burner during the holidays.
