How Meghan 'out-royaled' Kate Middleton at a recent event revealed by expert

Meghan Markle has made a big impact on the British royals already.

She made history in a number of ways when she married Prince Harry.

She was the oldest royal bride, the first mixed-race royal bride and the first outspokenly feminist woman to marry into the family.

And according to a body language expert Meghan is already beating Kate when it comes to her performance at some public appearances.

Judi James analysed Meghan and Kate Middleton when they appeared together at their first joint public engagement.

Describing the two women at the Royal Foundation Forum in February, Judi said: “When the two women appeared on stage together to promote their charity this mirroring was intense.”

Mirroring is when a person subconsciously imitates someone else.

It can indicate rapport or admiration between individuals.

“Meghan was ‘twinning’ herself to Kate by using the same, almost balletic palm-up hand in her lap while the other hand came up in a face-concealing cut-off as both women shared a giggle over a comment,” Judi added.

“Both sets of hands fell into a hand clasp gesture as they listened to Harry talking.”

How did the new Duchess of Sussex manage to “out-royal” Kate Middleton, despite her seven years of experience?

Judi said: “In some ways Meghan ‘out-royaled’ Kate by crossing her legs at the ankle in the demure style of the older royals while Kate sat using a more contemporary leg cross.

“Both women had their legs crossed towards one another though, which was a subtle signal of bonding.”

Are Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton friends

According to Judi Meghan has been imitating Kate’s wardrobe in bid to fit in with the royals.

Judi said: “Meghan’s mirroring of Kate currently involves wardrobe and body language mimicry and this reflects a degree of submission to show a desire for rapport and team acceptance.”

Meghan Markle and the Queen have been out together twice recently, sparking rumours that they are getting close.

But what does their body language say about them?

Meghan shows her deference to Her Majesty in the images, Judi claims.

One image shows the former-actress smiling down at the Queen with affection.
