In the end the scene ended up on the cutting room floor, but now director Spielberg has unveiled what happened in it.
Ford’s cameo, which can be seen on YouTube, saw him play Elliot’s principal.
However you never actually see his face, but just his body from behind, just like all the other adults in the film except for Elliot’s mother.
The cut scene saw Ford confront Elliot following the frog and kissing incident.
During a making-of featurette with Entertainment Weekly in 2012, Spielberg said: “That was the scene that we cut out. But that’s where [Henry] got a chance to meet Harrison.
Henry Thomas, who played Elliot said: “When I met Steven, the first thing out of my mouth was I think, “I love Raiders Of The Lost Ark,” and my hero was Harrison Ford.
‘I basically was just excited to meet Steven in hopes that I would meet Harrison.’
