WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD FOR HALLOWEEN
The ending of the new Halloween left some ambiguity regarding Michael Myers’ fate.
Laurie, aided by her daughter and granddaughter, managed to trap the serial killer in the basement.
Turning on the gas she set the room on fire securing what would presumably be Myers’ death.
Speaking with Empire, she said: “If David Gordon Green called me up and said let’s do another Halloween, I would do another Halloween.”
Green directed the latest Halloween outing so it sounds like Curtis had a great experience working with him.
Assuming she returns for next instalment in the slasher saga, it will be her sixth playing Laurie Strode.
The latest Halloween, and presumably its sequel, is the second time Curtis has returned to the franchise.
Back in 1998, she came back for Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, which retconned Halloween 3-6 of the franchise’s story arc, being a direct sequel to 1981’s Halloween II.
Then in 2002, she cameoed in Halloween: Resurrection set three years after Halloween H20.
And now Halloween (2018) has gone a step further and completely retconned every single sequel in the franchise, only following the events of 1978 original.
However presumably if there’s a sequel to the latest film, it, like Halloween: Resurrection, will be a continuation of that timeline.
