Guns N’ Roses CONFIRM they’re planning a new album: ‘It’s too good not to happen’

Currently on their Not In This Lifetime…World Tour, Guns N’ Roses are getting ready to play two dates in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on June 16 and 17.

It’s been almost 10 years since Axl Rose, Slash and the gang released their last record, Chinese Democracy.

Meanwhile guitarist Fortus, who joined the band in 2002, has revealed the band is planning a new album.

Speaking with the StageLeft podcast, he said: “We haven’t started recording anything, when I say that, as far as in the studio doing an album.”

He continued: “We’ve been recording a lot of stuff, just ideas, assembling ideas, but not going into a studio and actually tracking a new record.

“It’s sort of too good not to happen at this point, that’s how I feel about it.

“This band is really a force right now, and I definitely hope that we do, and I think we’re all sort of counting on it, and we’re also planning on it.”

Fortus also praised Axl’s skills as a songwriter, adding: “I think the genius of Axl is his ability to assemble songs, from different parts, and make them feel cohesive as a song. I’ve never seen anybody able to do that in the same way.”

Vicky Hamilton said: “The last time I spoke to him [Slash] about it he said it wasn’t happening.

“Considering the last tour Axl was on, he was throwing people out who were wearing top hats and Slash shirts. It was a little bit of a surprise when they got back together for this tour.”
