Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Jaime Lannister star spills huge final scene secrets

Jaime has proved to be a key figure throughout Game of Thrones and now Nikolaj has opened up about his character’s final scenes which will no doubt be explosive.

As well as that, he’s also hinted at what fans can expect from the last episode.

He revealed to Variety at the 2018 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity: “I don’t think it’ll ever be gone from my life.

“I’m going back to Belfast next week, so I’m not 100 per cent done.

“But the last scene in the script, I’ve shot that; the last scene with me.”

While Nikolaj has finished his last scenes, he hasn’t stopped shooting entirely. So could filming nearly be over?

The 47-year-old also spoke on the long-anticipated ending to the fantasy epic.

He said: “I was satisfied. I think it’s one of those things…you don’t want it to end.

“If I’m watching a show that I love, I just don’t want it to end. So any ending is kind of like, ‘Ahgh!’”

He went on to describe how fans could potentially react to the grand finale.

“But I think they will be satisfied. Everyone on the show show worked harder than ever before.

“We spent twice as much time shooting these six episodes than we did on two full seasons before. No expense has been spared.

“We’ve gone all in. We really hope people will like it. We’ve done our best.”

Viewers will just have to wait until next year to see if the ending lives up to their expectations.

It comes after rock legend Robert Plant recently divulged he’d been offered a guest spot on the programme.

During a recent interview with The Strombo Show, the rock icon admitted he had been offered a part in the series but had turned it down.

The 69-year-old said he couldn’t remember the role he had been offered, but that he thought it involved him riding a horse.

He also added: “I hadn’t got time to grow the beard really.”

Robert explained he didn’t want to be “typecast” by playing a role in the series.

Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
