Actor Pilou Asbæk has warned his character Euron Greyjoy will make the likes of Ramsay Bolton (played by Iwan Rheon) and King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) look like “little kids” as the King of Salt and Rock leaps hundreds of steps further in season seven.
Euron joined Game of Thrones in season six where he murdered his own brother Balon and claimed the Salt Throne for himself.
“The psychos I’ve encountered have so many different sides to them,” he told Empire magazine. “So each scene I’ve done with Euron, I pick a new thing I wanna show.
“‘This scene I want to be charming.’ ‘This scene I wanna be a molester.’ ‘This scene I wanna kill someone.’”
He added: “He’s really wanting to reflect the changeable, dangerous nature of the character in the next series, then – and he’s given himself a pretty villainous character to aim for.
“After this season, Ramsay’s gonna look like a little kid,” he warned.
Since Ramsay Bolton was mutilated by his own hounds, thanks to Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), fans have been calling out for a new villain to step up.
Pilou’s revelation comes after his co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau revealed a shocking new insight into the future of the Lannisters.
The 46-year-old indicated his character Jamie Lannister will become estranged from his sister and lover Cersei (Lena Heady), who currently sits on the Iron Throne.
What’s more, according to Empire, Game of Thrones on-set photography shows Jaime still sporting his Lannister and King’s Guard colours of red and gold, while Cersei continues to favour her new look of silver and black.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO on July 16 and will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic in the UK at 2am.
