Murray takes the first set
Our man Matt Dunn in Paris:
Remember, Andy struggled at this stage of the French Open last year, taking five sets to ease past Radek Stepanek.
It is easy to read too much given his recent illness but the important thing for Murray today is to get through, not so much how he does it.
The fact he threw away one chance to serve for the set just gave him the opportunity to break Kuznetsov to love in the very next game.
The Russian is hitting the ball well enough, but does not seem to have brought the belief he showed in the interview room onto the court with him.

Su-wei beats Konta
Huge blow for Konta, who looked in impressive form in the first set.
But she was unable to maintain her level and Su-wei took full advantage to shock her higher ranked opponent.
It means Konta has lost in the first round of Roland Garros for the third year in a row but it now gives the 26-year-old plenty of time to prepare for Wimbledon which gets underway on July 4.
Konta v Su-wei 6-1 6-7 4-6
The British number one had to respond and some big hitting gives her two break points.
Su-wei saves them both but Konta earns two more which are once again saved.

Konta is by far the bigger hitter but hasn’t showed as much craft and clay-court skill as her opponent.
She’ll need to find some now with Su-wei about to serve for the match.
Konta v Su-wei* 3-5
Su-wei has hit her drop-shot excellently today and again she catches Konta by surprise.
Konta doesn’t have many more chances to respond.

Konta* v Su-wei 1-0
A good service hold from Konta should ease any nerves.
13 unforced errors by Konta and 19 winners from Su-wei was the difference in that second set.
Our man Matt Dunn in Paris:
“Worrying for Johanna Konta as she concedes the final seven points of the set far too tamely to go into a third against the world no. 109.
“Things began to go wrong for her when she could not pick off four break points in the middle of the set. Her answer was to try to hit harder and harder, but Hseih is not one to be bullied.
“Instead she has begun to throw a lot more guile into her game, mixing things up and completely knocking Konta off her stride.
“Big third set for Konta’s credentials as a genuine Grand Slam contender of the future.”

Our man Matt Dunn in Paris:
“Konta loses just two points in rattling off first three games against Hseih Su-Wei, who is playing like somebody who is on a five-match losing streak.
“The seventh seed simply seems too powerful, and the fact that Hseih finally got something on the board after four games was due to Konta missing her shots rather than anything that Hseih herself produced.
“Normal service was quickly resumed and Konta rattles off a 6-1 first set lead. Impressive stuff.”

She said: “I’m really enjoying this part of the season. I think it’s giving me a lot of opportunity to grow as a player, my game style on this surface, but also, as a competitor, as a person.
“It gives me different challenges and the work that I’m putting in now – also I believe – will transfer on to the grass and also the hard.”
