Fortnite Android download release warning: New Mobile news before launch date

While Epic Games plan their move into Season 5, there’s plenty of evidence to show that further growth in user engagement and player numbers for the Battle Royale game is in its future.

Still proving to be one of the biggest games of 2018, it was recently revealed that Fortnite may have made more than $ 300 million in a single month.

New stats suggest that the game improved on its April numbers by around 7%, most of which came from PS4 and Xbox One.

Research from Superdata suggests that Fortnite on other platforms like iOS and PC didn’t perform as well, but that could all change very soon.

A massive boost could be provided by the Fortnite Android release date, which is set to be announced for summer 2018.

This will not only open the game up to a whole new group of gamers, but it will also make Fortnite more accessible to existing users.

Being able to link your Epic account to whichever platforms you’re playing on – bar those affected by Sony – will also drive player engagement with the game.

And events like today’s rocket launch antics will only help to build buzz around a game that continues to experiment with how to keep players entertained.

Fans are hoping that news on the Fortnite Android port will be announced soon, which should help cut down on some of the more serious online scams.

As interest is so high right now, there are plenty of scam sites that are looking to trick users into downloading problemware.

There’s a wide variety of malicious apps currently on the internet that is looking to fool you into thinking they are a version of Fortnite on Android.

Security experts at Malwarebytes are the latest to issue a warning about fake, malware-filled versions of Fortnite Android.

Unlike other malware threats, the offending apps are not located on the Google Play Store.

Instead, cybercriminals are trying to trick people into downloading Fortnite Android on YouTube.

In a blog post, Malwarebytes explained: “The apps are not located on the Google Play Store. Instead, people have found them by searching “How to install Fortnite on Android” or “Fortnite for Android” on Google, or stumbling across links in YouTube ads.

“From there, the apps can be downloaded.”

A number of other websites and online security blogs have also flagged new “how to get this” videos on YouTube, which have been promising early download links to the game.

These usually end in finding malicious apps and software loaded onto your phone, which can access sensitive information, and even your camera.

Epic Games themselves have revealed that they are hoping to release the game in summer 2018.

So any websites or app offering something Fortnite-related before that should be avoided at all costs.

And when it comes to the final Android release date, there has been some speculation over whether a beta will be put in place.

Epic Games opted for an invite-only launch on iOS, earlier this year and the same could be done on Android, especially when you consider how much different hardware choices there are.

Server surges could also be a factor in Epic Games trying to control the intake of players, what with the game being free-to-play.

The earliest date for a Fortnite Mobile release this summer is in late July, although the wait could technically last until mid-September.
