Flight secrets: Cabin crew reveal passengers will be kicked off the plane for doing THIS

During a flight, the cabin crew have a lot of responsibility to ensure the journey goes off without a hitch. This includes ensuring there are no hold ups inside the cabin and keeping all passengers on board safe.

However, with such diverse group of people crammed into a small space, it is not surprising things often go astray.

With tight safety measures high in the sky, flight attendants work to a strict no-nonsense policy with the important of ‘safety first’ drilled into them during training.

It, therefore, comes as no surprise that there is a lot of behaviour that is not tolerated on board with one action, in particular, causing an instant removal of the passenger from the aircraft.

When speaking to the Business Insider, one flight attendant, Annette Long, explained that the cabin crew just want to get on with their job without any disruptions. She said: ”We all just want to get on the plane and get where we’re going.”

”My job isn’t to enforce stuff — it’s to let you know that there are certain things that you can’t cross the line on — so don’t make me pull this plane over,” she added.

This attitude is needed when thousands of miles up as a dangerous passenger could affect the entire cabin, especially when passengers turn on the flight attendants.

In fact being aggressive towards any member of plane staff will cause the passenger to be instantly escorted off the plane.

“Disrespect to a crew member, whether verbal or physical” is not tolerated under any circumstances explained the flight attendant.

They crew member went on to add “If you cuss at a flight attendant, it’s immediately considered a threat, and if we’re still in the boarding process, there’s a good chance you’ll be taking the next flight.”

Alcohol is a big factor for flight disruption and delays. If a passenger is considered to have drunk too much before boarding the plane, the pilot will not take off until the passenger has been removed.

There is also a correlation between alcohol and abusive passengers as flight attendants have revealed drunk passengers are not allowed on board as there is no knowing what their behaviour will be once cabin pressure changes.

Similarly, anyone who deliberately ignores instructions from the flight attendants will not be allowed to fly.

This disregard for the rules could be as basic as refusing to do your seat belt when asked but, if the action is likely to cause a delay to the flight, the passengers will more often than not be removed.

However, Long revealed that the decision to actually remove the passenger does not lie with the cabin crew.

The flight and the decisions regarding passengers removal lie with the pilot of the aircraft.

Long explained: ” I don’t make those decisions. I convey the information to the cockpit and the chief flight attendant, and they make the decision about whether or not we’re going to land and get someone off the plane.”
