FIFA 18 and PES 2018 confirmed for PS4 Pro as Konami talk Xbox One X announcement

FIFA 18 is set to be available on both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

The official EA Sports website lists the popular footy title as available on Microsoft’s upgraded console, with 4K Ultra HD support.

Other updated specs for FIFA 18 on Xbox One X have yet to be revealed but it’s likely the game will also benefit from faster load times, due to the more powerful hardware.

When it comes to PES 2018, it has now been revealed that it will have a patch released for the PS4 Pro.

The new was revealed by Konami global products manager Adam Bhatti at E3 2017, who told Gamingbolt that the PES team were aiming for 4K support.

“Right now we’re committing to 4K for PS4 Pro,” Bhatti explained.

“Any of the other features we are not ready to announce right now, we are still testing but we are guaranteed to launch with 4K.”

When it comes to the Xbox One X, there was less news to announce, although it seems like there will be more to reveal nearer to the console’s launch in November.

“We haven’t made any announcements about Xbox One X. They [Microsoft] made a really cool announcement about X,” he added.

“But it something that as we get closer to Xbox One X launch will be able to talk about it a little bit more. But right now we can’t really say anything.”

Both FIFA 18 and PES 2018 are set to have beta runs later this year, with Pro Evo kicking off a multiplayer test in July.

The PES 2018 beta test starts at 8:00am on Thursday, July 20, running until 3:00am on Monday, July 31, and will include these modes:

  • Quickmatch
  • Online CO-OP

During an interview with Shacknews, PES representative Adam Bhatti, revealed more on the team’s plans to launch the game’s beta.

This appears to be connected with the online mode and problems with quality when trying to play others around the world.

“You have to make sure that everyone can play together consistently,” Bhatti revealed.

“The fans do complain that it isn’t consistent for them, so what we’re doing this year, is for 11 days at the end of July, We’re running an open beta.”
