Fantastic Beasts 2 plot hole? Did you spot THIS huge ‘gaffe’ in new trailer?

The second movie in the Harry Potter spin-off series debuted its full first-look yesterday, to a mostly positive reception from fans.

But many have spotted what may well be a plot hole.

The action-packed trailer opens with three wizards apparating onto a bridge just outside Hogwards School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

This has raised eyebrows, given that it was established in the original books and movies that such a thing can’t be done on Hogwarts grounds.

One fan tweeted: “I’ve very excited but very distracted because YOU CAN’T APPARATE ANYWHERE IN THE HOGWARTS GROUNDS.

“Have decided that Crimes of Grindelwald must take place before the rules were changed because that would be a ridiculous oversight!”

Another said: “Wait. Were there people Apparating on the Hogwarts grounds in that trailer? Cause according to “Hogwarts, A History” you can’t Apparate or Disapparate on the grounds. #FantasticBeasts.”

A third tweeted: “I love being a geek. Watching the #FantasticBeasts trailer and immediately thought ‘But you can’t apparate into Hogwarts grounds.’ Search twitter and EVERYONE is saying the same.”

It may well be that Hogwarts became an apparition-free zone once Dumbledore took the reigns as Headmaster.

Jude Law plays the younger version of the wizard in this movie, in an all-star cast that also includes Eddie Redmayne and Zoe Kravitz.

Somewhat controversially, the film also stars Johnny Depp in the titular role.

Fantastic Beasts 2 is out on November 16.
