ITV’s landlady will slip and sprain her ankle next week, forcing her to get new boyfriend Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) to take her to the doctor.
However the visit quickly takes a turn as Chas’ doctor goes through her medical records.
“Oh before you go, you do know you missed an appointment for your second contraceptive injection?” he asked.
“Yeah,” Chas replied. “I’ve been meaning to make another one.”
Not convinced by her claims, the doctor tried to get Chas to have the injection then and there.
Becoming more concerned about his enthusiasm to perform the injection as soon as possible, she asked: “But I’m still covered, aren’t I?
“I mean that stuff does stay in your system, yeah?”
As she began to panic about the situation, the doctor attempted to calm her, adding: “Well, have you been using alternative contraception?”
But Chas looked on in horror as she admitted that she hadn’t, meaning that she could be pregnant.
If Chas ends up being pregnant, it would be her first baby with current boyfriend Paddy.
The baby would also be the younger sibling of co-owner of the Holey Scrap, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
The arrival of this child would be the second Dingle baby to arrive this year, after it was revealed that Charity’s secret son will arrive in the village in search of his birth mother.
A source recently told The Sun: “Things have settled for her in terms of her personal life after three kids and as many husbands but this will change everything again.
“She gave up her son, which she’s never revealed before, just days after he was born because he was conceived during a rape. It is going to open up a load of old heartbreak for her.”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
