Viewers couldn’t contain themselves after married actors Zoe Henry and Jeff Hordley, who star as Rhona and Cain respectively, finally shared some screen time.
“Loved Rhona and Cain interacting tonight @ZoeHenry03 @HordleyJeff,” enthused one ecstatic audience member, which was followed by: “Looooool, it’s so weird watching Cain & Rhona in a scene together knowing they’re married in real life #Emmerdale.”
A third cried: “In all the years I have been watching Emmerdale, I have never seen Cain and Rhona in a scene. I do know they are husband and wife xx.”
“At last a scene with Cain and Rhona hilarious,” chuckled one more, while this desperate fan pleaded: “Love love love Rhona and Cain….. please make this happen @emmerdale @ZoeHenry03 @HordleyJeff.”
However, their Emmerdale romance was unbearably short-lived after Cain turned a drunk Rhona down when she asked him to buy her a drink.
“Oh, so I’m not good enough, am I? she snapped.
“I said it once, that I half liked you,” Rhona continued. “Don’t think I wanted to have sex with you; that you were ever good enough for me.”
Eventually, Cain’s girlfriend Harriet Finch took Rhona home where she broke down over her harrowing few months after being raped by husband Pierce Harris.

After host Ruth Langsford asked whether Zoe would be sharing any moments with her spouse anytime soon, the mother-of-two shared some exciting news.
“Well interestingly, there was a scene actually with Pierce when the storyline began, and she said her ultimate one night stand fantasy would be with Cain – which I rolled my eyes at,” Zoe giggled.
“We just shot some scenes where that doesn’t come to light…but certain things happen.”
She added: “I was really nervous to work with him.”
