Emmerdale spoilers: Beloved couple to drop baby bombshell as relationship heats up?

Nothing moves slowly in soapland and Emmerdale is no different, as one unsuspecting couple may discover they are expecting a baby together in an upcoming episode of the ITV soap.

At the beginning of the week Victoria Sugden (played by Isabel Hodgins) tries to help her new boyfriend Ellis Grant (Asan N’Jie) work through his issues with his half-brother Billy (Jay Kontzle).

The siblings have been at loggerheads since Billy was released from prison and Victoria will stop at nothing to help the men work through their problems.

Tired of watching the brothers go at it, Victoria locks the relatives in a Portakabin, hoping they will come to some resolution.

However, she is unaware Billy does not do well in confined spaces following his stint in jail.

When Billy has a panic attack Ellis realises there is another side to him and the twosome patch things up.

Meanwhile, Victoria suspects she might be having a baby after doing a pregnancy test, but panics about the results.

When she tries to reach Ellis on the phone he is unable to answer, as he is dealing with a medical issue of his own after she trapped him and his brother in the room.

Victoria leaves an urgent message for Ellis, but just as she does, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and his wife Jessie (Sandra Marvin) come storming down the stairs.

In a panic Victoria throws the pregnancy test under the sofa – is she expecting a child with Ellis?

Elsewhere, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) could find himself behind bars as police investigate the murder of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).

Fans of the ITV series are aware the father-of-two punched the businessman so hard he fell back and hit his head on a rock last year.

Next week, the mechanic will be arrested by the authorities as he shares a few drinks with his wife Moira Barton and sister-in-law Faith in The Woolpack.

As he enjoys a cold pint of beer in the pub, Cain is cornered by two female officers who question him about Joe’s murder.

They insist the handy-man comes with them, but when he refuses they arrest him for the killing and everyone in the pub is stunned.

Even his daughter Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) is gobsmacked as she watches Cain from the entrance dismiss the police.

Could her father have murdered the man she loved so dearly? Or is it all just a big misunderstanding?

Some would agree it is the latter, as Joe’s death is yet to be confirmed and viewers had no clarification on his disappearance last year.

What’s more, there are a few stars of the ITV series who have refrained from revealing whether Joe is dead or alive.

Emmerdale continues tonight on ITV at 7pm.
