Last week, the BBC One soap released a teaser trailer promising a whole week of mayhem as Michelle’s (played by Jenna Russell) affair with teenager Preston (Martin Anzor) is set to be exposed.
And in a dramatic end to last night’s episode, Michelle returned home to find the police in her house next to Preston.
An officer asked her: “Miss Fowler – do you know this boy?”
But before the character could answer, the episode was cut off.
Did Denny Mitchell (Bleu Landau) snitch on their illegal relationship after catching them together?
Or did Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) call them after Preston was underage drinking?
Fans won’t find out if Michelle has finally got caught until tomorrow’s episode, but many viewers are hoping it’s true.
One commented on Twitter: “I hope the police lock Michelle up. Denny speak out #eastenders.”
“I so hope that Dennis called the police about Michelle and Preston #Eastenders,” said another.
A third stated: “Sooner Michelle & Preston are found out the better #EastEnders.”
“I’m at the point where I wish Dennis would actually call the police on Michelle. #EastEnders Ew,” added one user.
Michelle returned to Walford earlier this year after leaving the square in 1995 to start a new life in America.
But she fled the States after her American husband and son discovered she’d struck up a relationship with her pupil Preston, who followed her back.
