EastEnders runaway Sean Slater (played by Rob Kazinsky) returned to the Square after finding out about his mother, Jean Slater’s (Gillian Wright) cancer diagnosis.
The Slater family were reunited earlier this week when Sean turned up and surprised Jean by taking her to her doctor’s appointment.
Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) was less happy to see her brother as she confessed to him that she was worried his arrival could have a negative impact on their mother’s health.
When Stacey told him this, Sean almost left the Square again but he changed his mind and decided to go on a break with Jean so they could spend some time together.
However, tragedy struck during their time at the remote countryside barn as Jean cut herself badly during a walk together.
Realising that he might not have as much time with his mum as he thought, Sean decided to make a shocking revelation as Jean slipped in and out of consciousness.
He confessed to causing his father’s brain haemorrhage by punching him and explained that he has blamed himself for his death ever since.
Viewers watched as Sean contemplated killing himself as he hid out in the barn with a rifle listening to a voicemail from dead wife Roxy Mitchell.
Luckily, Jean and Stacey were able to convince Sean that he had a lot to live for and eventually he handed Jean the gun.
RadioTimes.com have confirmed that Sean’s stay is not over yet and he will appear again in Monday’s episode of the BBC soap.
Sean’s stay in the Square was always intended to be brief but actor Rob has refused to rule out another comeback.
Rob confessed: “I don’t know. I thought I’d never come back, yet here I am and I’ve enjoyed every single second.
“I’m not sure what more there would be for Sean, but as long as Stacey and the Slaters are there, there’s always a reason for him to return.
“But you don’t know what’s going to happen in the future. Never say never…”
Elsewhere in EastEnders, Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) will discover that she is pregnant with Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) baby in upcoming episodes.
Keanu and Louise’s step-mother (Letitia Dean) had a secret affair last year and as a result, Keanu was avoiding growing close to the Mitchell teenager.
However after her recent kidnapping, Keanu realised that he had fallen for Louise and the pair decided to give things a try.
When Louise reveals the news to Keanu, she ends up running off but after speaking to his mother, Keanu decides to tell Louise that he’s there for her not matter what.
Once they are reunited Louise is hit with some unexpected news that will throw their relationship into question.
Will she break up with him after finding out what Sharon and Keanu have been desperately trying to keep secret?
EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
