The 53-year-old, who made his debut in the BBC One soap in 1990, hasn’t made an appearance in Walford since last year.
But now the actor has dropped a huge hint that he will be making an anticipated comeback.
The popular TV star even joked the Mitchell brother will never die and will “live forever”.
When asked by Shortlist whether it’s inevitable that Grant will be killed off, he said: “Inevitable? Why’s that inevitable? Grant will live forever.”
Ross then come up with a few epic ideas about his proposed last scenes as the east end hard man and they were in true Mitchell style.
He continued: “Oh I don’t know; it could be just a massive brawl. He’d hold a bank up. He’d have to go out in a blaze of glory.”
With the door still open for Ross’ return as Phil Mitchell’s younger brother, fans could expect Grant to pop up anytime.
And earlier this year, Ned Porteous, who played Grant’s son Mark Fowler Jr, teased that he could be making a return to the Square along with his on-screen dad.
“I might be coming back to EastEnders and Ross wants to return,” he told The Sun.
EastEnders continues tomorrow on BBC One at 7.30pm.
