The troubled businessman had an explosive Christmas which saw both of his daughters, Lauren (played by Jacqueline Jossa) and Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) fall off the Queen Vic roof.
With Abi’s death now officially confirmed after she was announced as brain dead, it seems that Max’s woes will go from bad to worse.
Speaking to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain today, 45-year-old Jake teased: “It’s been exciting that John Yorke came back because he really knows the characters.
“He’s kind of really ramping up the storyline,” Jake let slip.
With that kind of tease, it seems certain that Max’s problems will get even worse.
This comes as Abi’s official death date was finally confirmed.
The youngster will officially depart the BBC soap next Friday after her life support machine is turned off.
What’s more, Lauren will be leaving as well, following the recent family tragedy.
