Donald Trump and First Lady Melania pose for their official Christmas portrait together

President of the United States Donald Trump, 71, appeared alongside wife Melania Trump, 47, in a Christmas portrait posted on Twitter today, taken at the White House.

In the portrait, the married couple appear wearing black tie dress and holding hands in a pose that shows a united front.

First Lady Melania wears a midi length black dress with a sequinned embellishment which goes from the bust down to her mid thigh.

She is wearing black pointed stiletto shoes on her feet, and has gone free from accessories, letting the dress speak for itself.

Donald wears a black bow tie, a black tuxedo style suit and a white dress shirt, finished with black shiny shoes.

He is sporting his usual deep tanned complexion, which contrasts vividly with his white shirt.

Melania also sports a deep tan on her face and body, and her healthy glow is heightened by bronzer.

She wears her dark signature smokey eye make up and has a pristine blow-dried wavy hair style.

Both Donald and Melania sport huge, white grins in the portrait, making the image an uplifting one in keeping with the festive spirit.

The portrait is taken in front of a tall, grand wooden doorway in the White House.

To the side of the couple, a Christmas wreath painted white is visible, adorned with baubles.

A huge American flag can also be seen in the background, to represent Donald’s position as President of the US.

Donald Trump made a speech at the White House today to talk about deregulation made under his administation.

In what was intended as a symbolic move, he cut a red ribbon beside stacks of paper depicting regulations in 1960 and present day to underline the changes made.

Ivanka, Donald Trump’s daughter, was in attendance during the speech, although his wife Melania Trump was not.

For the event, Ivanka Trump wore a frumpy outfit: a floor length black look consisting of high waisted trousers and a bat wing top which drowned her slim, tall figure.
