‘Deeply unhappy’ Sarah Ferguson continues public charm offensive after royal wedding snub

Sarah Ferguson, the ex wife of Prince Andrew, 58, visited Huddersfield yesterday.

The Duchess of York seemed in good spirits despite reports she is “deeply unhappy” about matters related to royal wedding invitations.

On Monday last week it was reported that Fergie, the mother of Prince Harry’s cousins, Princess Eugenie, 28, and Princess Beatrice, 29, is not invited to the wedding reception of her nephew.

However, the redhead is invited to the ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

According to reports Prince Charles, who is planning the reception, made the decision not in invite his brother’s ex wife.

An insider told Mail Online: “Numbers are limited to the evening party, she is not a member of the Royal Family any more and Prince Charles simply doesn’t have time for her.

“He just can’t see why she is still such a big part of his brother’s life.”

Prince Harry is reported to have made a point of inviting his aunt to his wedding after she was not invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nuptials in 2011.

However, familial ties between Fergie and her ex husband are said to be mended.

According to an insider Sarah Ferguson still lives with Prince Andrew, 58, at the Royal Lodge.

Yesterday Sarah posted images to her Twitter account detailing her trip to Huddersfield.

She wrote: “Extraordinary and inspirational collections from The Textile Practice Year 1 @HuddersfieldUni.

“The finalists designing from their brief of imagery around the word ‘Apothecary’ @ADAHuddersfield @HUDVC #textiles #design.”

She also shared images of herself visitng a local charity.

She wrote: “So honoured to visit @Ruddisretreat in Huddersfield who raise funds for retreats for children with cancer and their families @HuddersfieldUni @HUDVC #huddersfield.”

Sarah Ferguson was making merry at St. James’ Palace enjoying herself and socialising with a wine glass in hand, just days before the royal wedding yesterday.

Recently engaged Princess Eugenie, 28, attended the event with her mother, showing off her huge engagement ring.

HRH Princess Eugenie of York was given a rare “lotus blossom” sapphire, which an expert has valued at around £7,000 – modest for a royal ring.

The light pink ring is an oval cut, flanked by diamonds and set on a gold band.

A padparadscha sapphire like Eugenie’s is characterised by a colour that is a mixture of red and yellow, creating a pink tone.
