Dancing On Ice 2019: Brendan Cole reveals James Jordan’s HUGE advantage

Dancing On Ice has been full of drama this year, mostly thanks to Gemma Collins.

However, in terms of the dancing, James Jordan has certainly been impressing the judges.

Even though he had a little stumble on last weekend’s show, James was brilliant in the first week, and his friend, Brendan Cole, was on Loose Women discussing his performance on the dancing competition.

James in an English ballroom dancer and was on Strictly Come Dancing until 2013, yet he’s never danced on ice before this.

However, Brendan didn’t seem to think that it mattered and suggested he should still be better than the rest.

Stacey Soloman asked Brendan Cole whether he’s been watching Dancing On Ice, to which he answered: “I am, and I have to, my friend James in on it.”

Brendan continued: “I’ve obviously known James for 20-something years.”

“And what do you think?” asked Stacey with a giggle.

“Immensely proud of him,” he replied, before adding: “I know you gave the old tease, ‘Oh, you should be disappointed’.

“I said the other day, he was not top of the leaderboard, was he?

“And that’s definitely a no-no as a dancer. You should be out there going, ‘whoo, whoo, whoo…’

Stacey then interjected in an attempt to defend James, saying: “We had a chat with him before he went on the show and he never had ice skated before in his life.

“Yes, he has an advantage with the lines I’m guessing, and posture, and stuff like that, but should he really be the best of everyone?”

Brendan replied: “Absolutely! 100 per cent. No questions asked.

“It’s on ice, though. On ice it’s different,” said Coleen Nolan.

“The thing is, as a dancer, you know how to stand, when I present I go, ‘whoo’,” Brendan explained.

“You can’t do that, you’d be going, ‘wait, how do I do it?’

Coleen then challenged Brendan to put some ice skates on himself and try and dance on the ice.

“I can put skates on, there’s no problem. Any time you want to challenge me I’ll do it.

“But, for James, even lifting his partner, he’s been doing that for years, whereas the others are going, ‘How do I lift you?’

“So, he’s definitely at an advantage, and I think he’s doing really really well.

“His first week was amazing. I know he had the stumble on the weekend, but I’m really proud of him,” he finished.

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
