Cruise ship storm sees passengers ‘thrown into walls’ and vomiting

Cruise ship holidays often face difficult weather when out at sea, battling cyclones and storms.

They can leave passengers struggling onboard with sea sickness and falling objects.

Passenger Jessica Grace posted a video showing a P&O Australia ship during a storm, with doors being slammed open as the liner battled strong waves.

It also showed the huge waves outside the window as well as the swimming pools overflowing as they rocked.

Other passengers reportedly struggling to get around the ship and stay upright.

She told Daily Mail Australia: “Everyone walking is being thrown around seen several people thrown into walls while walking.”

Her daughter struggled with the waves, succumbing to seasickness.

“It’s very rough, the staircases are best to be avoided.

“Yesterday my 3-year-old fell down a small staircase when we hit a big swell.’

“She’s fine, besides being a bit seasick. Just had a big spew which clogged our room toilet so we are upstairs now while it gets fixed.”

Thankfully the ship managed to dock in Brisbane successfully but was delayed by six hours.

Ms Grace said many were in good spirits, with some passengers at the bar and “having a drink and a laugh”.

The only downside was missing out on the port of Hamilton Island due to the weather.

P&O Cruises Australia told Express.co.uk: “There was no chaos on Pacific Aria and the ship was nowhere near a tropical cyclone in far north Queensland which has subsequently moved out to sea.

“The P&O Cruises Australia ship was actually sailing away from the weather system on its return to Brisbane via the inner passage in waters protected by the Great Barrier Reef, which is all completely consistent with our commitment to safety as the top priority.

“Pacific Aria simply slowed down to maximise passenger comfort in the prevailing swell off the coast of Queensland and is due to arrive a bit later than scheduled in Brisbane later today.”

A video previously went viral when a group of passengers starting fight onboard a Carnival Cruise Legend ship.

The brawl began after two men got their feet tangled which led to an angry argument between the two families.

A passenger then filmed the fight as it escalated, with some being punched and kicked by other people.

Security on the cruise ship was forced to step in who can be seen trying to end the fight.

An anonymous guest reported how many felt to their cabins for safety out of fear.
