Eva (played by Catherine) and Aidan’s (Shayne Ward) wedding has already seen his affair with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) come to light, while her fake pregnancy was exposed before a vicious cat fight in the fountain.
However, just as Aidan and Eva appeared to be putting the dramatic events of the week behind them, Catherine has warned fans that their harmonious period will be short-lived.
In a behind-the-scenes clip from the set of Coronation Street, the 34-year-old explained: “Aidan and Eva really do love each other. Is there a way of them making up in the future? I want to say yes.
“When Aidan sees Underworld for him, at that moment, it’s game over. She’s already done so much to him but when it affects his family, and he’s a strong family guy, it’s a step too far.”
Catherine’s comments come after she suggested that fans of the ITV soap will soon turn on Eva over the coming weeks, after having her back through her long-running love triangle.
The actress teased that her co-star Shayne, 34, has been batting off swipes from angry viewers, grinning: “Everyone so far has been Team Eva.
Although, she added: “That could change.”
What’s more, a Corrie spokesperson suggested that “the tables will turn” on Eva as fans start to sympathise with Maria instead.
This week marks a monumental five days for Coronation Street as the soap leaps to six episodes a week.
