Coronation Street spoilers: David Platt to MURDER rapist Josh Tucker amid exit twist?

Josh Tucker (played by Ryan Clayton) continued to torment David (Jack P. Shepherd) in tonight’s by turning up to his house and giving Harry a birthday present.

Jibing at David while his family giggled left the victim sickened to the core.

David was raped off-screen by Josh after having his drink spiked during last week’s Coronation Street.

Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) picked up on the strange behaviour that David was displaying when she attempted to become intimate in the kitchen.

David’s girlfriend is worried that David is no longer interested in her.

Josh then approached David in the kitchen and teased his “smooth hands” and added that he would “make someone a good wife”.

David grabbed a large knife from the sink counter and approached Josh while he had his back turned.

However, his attempt was stopped when Shona took the knife to cut Harry’s birthday cake.

Later in the episode, David announced that he would be leaving Weatherfield and heading to Liverpool – without Shona.

It comes after it was revealed that David will dump Shona and have a one-night stand with a teenage girl.

Corrie boss Kate Oates revealed that David will continue to push his loved ones out of the picture as he struggles to cope.

He will split with Shona and sleep with a 19-year-old salon intern called Emma to “prove his masculinity” to himself.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Kate said: “David’s head is all over the place and nobody knows what is going on with him.

“When he meets this young newcomer, it’s like he’s trying to find a way to hide in plain sight. In his mind, he feels he has to prove his manhood.”

Weatherfield residents and David’s family believe he is friends with Josh, but the character woke to distressing scenes in the attacker’s bed after realising he had been sexually assaulted.

Kate continued: “By this point he has finished with Shona who is completely bewildered over what went wrong. How David deals with his bottled up torment is very self destructive.

“Sleeping with Emma will be one of his big mistakes and it’s a way of him trying to get across to himself he has this masculinity and can attract girls. He goes to extreme levels to try and block out what has happened to him.”
