Coronation Street spoilers: Anna Windass’ dramatic exit scenes revealed in SHOCK twist

Anna (who is played by Debbie Rush) has been accused of pushing Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) off a ladder last year.

Now, she could be facing a long jail sentence if her GBH trial does not go her way.

Of course, fans of the show know that she is being framed by her nemesis Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) for the crime.

But when Pat is put in the witness box to deliver his testimony against Anna he gives a damning account, putting her yet in more danger.

As the trial continues and Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is called as a witness, he gives Anna a terrific character reference.

However, he is forced to admit that he witnessed Anna slap Seb across the face in the cafe just before the ladder incident happened.

Although, the most shocking twist will come when Phelan’s wife Eileen (Sue Cleaver) is at the cab office and stumbles across CCTV footage of Gary Windass (Joe Duttine) and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) appearing to threaten Seb.

After the discovery, Tim is forced to come clean about him and Gary pressuring Seb to change his story before the trial when he takes the stand as a witness.

Anna is devastated when she realises this could have serious consequences for her, while smug Phelan is thrilled that his plan seems to be working.

Elsewhere, “violent” scenes aired in Coronation Street sparked hundreds of complaints from viewers.

The popular ITV soap received more than 600 complaints about an episode which showed Pat shooting Luke Britton (Dean Fagan) before burning him alive.

Bruce Jones, who played Les Battersby in Coronation Street up until 2007, slammed the scenes for being “too violent”.

He said: “The shootings and the stabbings went too far. The violence when I was there wasn’t as bad as that. I just don’t know why it’s gone that way. I can’t watch it anymore because it’s too violent.

“It’s terrible. People said to me, ‘I’m not watching anymore’. They say to me, ‘Did you watch that s*** last night?’”

Bruce went on tell The Sun: ”I don’t think Coronation Street have set out to do what they’re doing, they’ve just gone with the way the world is which Coronation Street nearly always has done.

“Coronation Street’s never been violent, it’s always had the comedy elements running through it – well that’s not there now.”

Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
