The ITV show has dealt Michelle (played by Kym Marsh) a tough hand recently, after she was kidnapped and held in the boot of Will’s (Leon Ockenden) locked car.
But while she and her partner Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) remained convinced the culprit was Robert’s old drug-dealing friend Rich (Fraser Ayres) after she was eventually rescued, the real person to blame was Michelle’s unassuming friend and ex.
Will has been clearly obsessed with his past love and desperate to split her and Robert apart since he returned to the cobbles, and had thought that by framing Rich and inciting Robert’s rage the pair would row and subsequently break up.
Instead, what he witnessed was the couple growing closer than ever after Robert mistakenly went and attacked Rich for his perceived actions.
New pictures released by the soap now reveal that Will will attempt to spark the flames between him and his once-love again, starting with a drink in the Rover’s Return.
But as he struggles to hold back, Will ends up making a grave mistake and pushes the fragile Michelle too far.
Intensely questioning her about the extent of Robert’s relationship with Rich, the Bistro business-woman becomes defensive and suspicious of his interest in her partner.
Could this be the moment Michelle realises that Will still has serious feelings for her and wants her all to himself? Or will she reason that Will is just worried for her wellbeing?
Meanwhile, Eva Price’s (Catherine Tyldesley) revenge plot continues to heat up, as she began planning a double wedding with Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) and his father Johnny (Robert Hawley).
However, before she could get her way, Maria Connor (Samia Ghadie) caught Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) making a move on the engaged blonde.
